Thanks Tim. That NYTimes article is a frsanrutitg one to see. Lots to pick apart on it, but it mainly ignores the huge risks associated with invasive species that reduce species diversity and ecosystem function. I'm not a complete purist when it comes to plant species anymore I can live with some non-native species that add themselves to the plant community without pushing others out. The problem is, it's really hard to predict which ones will be innocuous and which will take over the world and by the time you can tell, it's too late to close the gate.Chris
